RICHFIELD, MN. -- A sword-wielding man in full Ninja garb attempted to rob Lunds at 62nd and Penn Saturday night in Richfield.

The man approached a cashier as a customer was checking out, drew his sword and demanded money.

The cashier assumed it was a prank, telling him he can't open the cash drawer in the middle of a sale.

The attempted robber then swore in frustration and fled the store. Richfield police were unable to locate the stealthy suspect, and are still seeking him.

Hopefully it was more of a prank / dare / unstable person than a serious criminal. It seems like a lot of effort for someone to dress up in a suspicious constume. Who knows though?

If the sword and threat are real - it doesn't matter if it's a prank or not. I'm sure more information will be revealed and the story will get more media attention due to the strange factor.
